Bruno S. Wengrowski

Bruno retired August 2008 as the highest rated and ranked Professor of Contract Management at Defense Acquisition University-South Campus in Huntsville Alabama (DAU). His courses included Shaping Smart Business Decisions, Contingency Contracting, and Advanced Business Solutions for Mission Support (CON 353). Bruno joined DAU in 2002 and participated in outreach support to include Best Value, Source Selection, Performance Based Acquisitions, Contracting Officer Representative, Alpha Contracting, Effective Contract Planning and Management, Detection and Prevention of Contract Crime, Uniform Contract Format, Contracting Officer Technical Representative, and Business Processes and Opportunities for the Reconstruction of Iraq.

Prior to Federal service Bruno taught college Economics courses and was a Director for Davenport College-Pontiac Campus. His Federal Career began in 1974 and duty assignments include Army Tank-Automotive Command in Warren, Michigan, Contracting Officer for Naval Regional Contracting Center-Naples, Italy; Professor and Course Manager for Army Logistics Management College, School of Acquisition Management, at Fort Lee, Virginia; Director of Contracts for U. S. Army Contracting Command-Seckenheim, Germany; Director of Office of Acquisition for Seventh Signal Army Command at Fort Ritchie, Maryland; Technical Director for Procurement and Contracting for U. S. Navy Seventh Fleet at Regional Contracting Center-Singapore, and Unlimited Contracting Officer and Supervisory Contract Specialist for U. S. Naval Military Sealift Command in Washington, D.C.

Bruno has completed the Army Leadership and Management Program (LOGAMP) and was selected for the Defense Leadership and Management Program. He has a bachelor's degree from University of Detroit, with a major in Economics and minors in German and Philosophy, and a master's degree from U of D in Economics and Education. He has taken postgraduate courses at six prestigious universities. He has published articles on contracting in the National Contract Management Association magazine, Army Research and Development magazine, Acquisition Technology and Logistics magazine and Acquisition Review Journal. Bruno has provided training seminars for GSA Expo and National Contract Management Association World Congress. Bruno has traveled to sixty-two countries.

Between 2003 and 2008 Bruno was the lead DAU instructor to train and register more than 2500 foreign companies on the US contracting process. The National Security Council requested Department of Defense to provide the training in thirty-one cities in twenty-two countries on four continents for the coalition nations. Bruno is currently a consultant and instructor and has provided multifaceted support to the Army, Navy, DHS, Department of Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services and industry.
